Starting our journey from San Pedro de Atacama at the prearranged time, we head towards the Heart of the Desert. The invigorating fresh air will energize us as we make our way to our destination, the Hidden Waterfall. This thrilling adventure invites us to uncover a secluded nook of nature.
Our trek begins across the arid terrain, skirting the edges of the Vilama River. Along the path, we will encounter the Centennial Cacti that dot the landscape. Despite being situated in the world's driest desert, abundant flora and wild birds will accompany us on our journey.
As we draw near to the Cascada Escondida, the terrain becomes increasingly rugged, revealing signs of its presence, such as moisture on the rocks and the vibrant greenery of the surrounding vegetation. Gradually, the waterfall unveils itself, concealed amidst rocky formations and lush plant life.
Upon reaching the Hidden Waterfall, its stunning beauty will astonish us. Water cascades down from a height of approximately 8 meters, creating a sunlit curtain of droplets.
In this extraordinary spot, we will have the opportunity to refresh ourselves. A dip in this hidden desert waterfall is highly recommended. We suggest wearing your swimsuit under your clothing, as there are no restrooms or changing facilities available.
